Textbook publishers are supporting learning materials and developing and making available accessible textbooks. Please ask the VolShop about the availability of these texts and materials for your classes. Let your students know about the availability and how to get these materials.
To reduce any issues getting materials, please consider accessibility as part of your content.
From the 2015–16 Faculty Teaching Guide:
The UT system is drafting a policy regarding accessible information, materials, and technology. Part of the policy addresses instructional materials in all formats (print, electronic, etc.).
Easy to follow instructions and information will be made available to faculty, staff, and students through accessibility.utk.edu. Workshops and presentations will also be available in the fall and spring semesters.
Please look for opportunities to learn why accessibility is important at our institution and how you can do your part.
